Community Commitment

Whether donating materials for a new facility, volunteering labor to repair an historic landmark, or simply sponsoring one of the area’s youth athletic teams, M.I.C., Inc. is committed to community.

When a new Riverwalk was proposed for an area just north of downtown Batavia, M.I.C. president Dennis Kintop stepped to the forefront to spearhead the massive 7 year building project. As volunteer construction manager, he organized and supervised volunteers of all ages in the effort. Leading by example, he also persuaded area businesses to donate materials and/or labor and his hard work paid off. The project, originally budgeted at $3 million, was completed for just over $1 million. The community showed their appreciation by naming the entry plaza after Dennis and the City of Batavia designated him 1998 Citizen of the Year.

M.I.C.’s dedication to the community is prevalent throughout the company. Many of M.I.C.‘s employees are local residents who have lived in the area all their lives. They consider it a privilege to work on area projects, such as Batavia’s Quarry Park and Pool where many of them have solid roots and vivid memories.

As a company, it is rewarding to contribute to an area’s progress and prosperity. But at M.I.C., Inc., they believe that it is what you give back to your community that truly makes it a great place to live.
